A spectral breakpoint filter is a filter that applies to the instantaneous spectrum of a signal to increase or decrease its amplitude at a given time. Spectral breakpoint filters – SBFs to be short – are designed with BPFs and are applied like any other treatments, over the global duration of the sound, or over a selection. They are created, manipulated and saved just like any other BPF. They can have constant values, or dynamic values over a given time.
