Transposition

Transposition operators
Transposition operators

Absolute Transposition

Parameters
  • Input : chord , sequence , rhythmic sequence
  • Factor : a number of semitones defining the transposition interval
    Result

All the notes of the object are raised or lowered from the same number of semitones.

    Interval Transposition

    Parameters
    • Input : a sequence
    • Factor : a note
      Result

The sequence is transposed from the note.

      Transposition by Degrees

      Parameters
      • Input : a chord or sequence with a given tonality
      • Factor : an interval
        Procedure
        1. Specify a transposition interval

        2. Enter a number of additional octaves.

        Result

The object is transposed but the scale and figuring remain the same.

        Transposition in Another Tonality

        Parameters
        • Input : a chord , a sequence , a rhythmic sequence
        • Factors : a key and a number of additional octaves
          Result:
          • The object is transposed to the selected key and interval
          • Figuring and degrees are preserved.
          • Atonal objects are transposed from the default C Major tonality.
            Nota Bene

Internal modulations are ignored. In some cases, such as modal changes, the user may have to correct possible mistakes of the program.

Transitory modulations are not indicated after the transposition.
Transitory modulations are not indicated after the transposition.

            Enveloppe Transposition

            Parameters
            • Input : a chord
            • Factor : an envelope
              Procedure
              1. Drop an envelope in the Curve frame.

              2. Enter a semi-tone ambitus range for the resulting sequence .

              3. Enter a duration in ms for the resulting sequence .

              Result

The chord is duplicated to fit each point of the curve. The root note is given by the corresponding y -point, the offset by the corresponding x -point.

              Resampled Envelope Transposition

              Parameters
              • Input : a chord
              • Factor : an envelope
                Procedure
                1. Drop an envelope in the Curve frame.

                2. Enter a semi-tone range for the resulting sequence .

                3. Enter a duration in ms for the resulting sequence

                Result

The envelope is resampled and the the chord is duplicated to fit each point of the resampled envelope.
