Treatments

The BPF editor deals with five treatments, which are accessed via the Treatments menu :

  • Transposition : pitch or envelope transposition[1] in midicents, from -4800 cents to + 4800 cents, or -4 to + 4 octaves.

  • Time stretch : increase or decrease of the duration from a 0.1 to 12 factor – the "speed" of the sound will be 10 times higher to 12 times slower.

  • Frequency shift : pitch transposition in Hz, from -22KHz to +22KHz.

  • Gain envelope : global gain increase or decrease of the spectrum from -116 to +116 dB.

  • Spectral breakpoint filter : the amplitude of the spectral components can be increased selectively. This modification cannot evolve in time.

Fundamental Frequency Analysis

BPFs resulting from fundamental frequency analysis – F0 – can also be used and edited.

BPFs Location

BPFs can be superimposed on the sonogram, on the waveform, or on the instantaneous spectrum. In some cases, this location can be specified by the user.
