This documentation covers the general use of the Modalys physical modeling synthesis software and has been throughly maintained. Although much of it has been redesigned and rewritten, many parts of it nonetheless are based on the original Morrison/Waxman documentation (either verbatim or paraphrased). It corresponds to Modalys 3.4.1, as of September 2014.

Modalys works for :
Mac OS 10.6 and later (including Mountain Lion and Mavericks)
Intel Mac with a minimum of 2 Gigs of RAM.
Modalys is primarily a framework that can be used under various environments:
As a stand-alone application, ModaLisp, powered by LISP language.
As a Max/MSP set of objects for realtime use (MLYS and modalys~ objects). Compatible with Max 5, 6.0, and 6.1.
As an OpenMusic library.
As a MatLab set of objects for scientific applications.
Modalys is a "fat" 32/64bit hybrid framework, meaning that it is used in 32 or 64bit context automatically. In particular, it is fully compatible with Max 6.1 in 64bit mode.
