Once a filter has been created, its value is nil. Consequently, it has a grey neutral shade. To increase or decrease the gain of the spectral components within the limits of the filter, its value must be edited. |
Filters can be selected from the sonogram window, or from the processing sequencer with a click.
An unselected area shows no border, with a blue-grey block in the processing sequencer. A selected area shows a dark border, whose colour depends on the gain of the filter : grey if the filter has no value, blue with a positive value, pink with a negative value – see below. The corresponding block in the processing sequencer will have a blue colour. Region filters created with successive clicks will also display points which can then be moved with the pointer – see below. |
All filters can be resized in time and frequency. Slight differences are noticeable regarding some filter types.
Filters can be modified in time – along the horizontal axis – or frequency – vertical axis –. To resize a filter, hover the mouse over it until the pointer turns into a double triangle , or a cross , depending on the type of filter. Surface, or pencil strokes, can be resized with click and drag one of their vertical or horizontal borders. Note that an important frequency range range modification of pencil strokes will considerablly affect its geometry. |
Regions can be globally modified from the sonogram window, only if they have be created with successive clicks, showing a set of points. Click and drag a point to modify its coordinates.
When a filter is resized in time, the corresponding block in the processing sequencer is automatically resized.
The size of filters can be modified in time from the processing sequencer, like any treatment. To resize a block, hover the mouse over it until the pointer turns into a double triangle . Click and drag a size of the corresponding block to change its duration. |
To move a filter, hover the mouse over it until the pointer turns into a hand tool. Click on the area to move it freely along the time or frequency axis. |
The processing sequencer allows to move an area along the time axis only. Click and drag an item to move it. The pointer will turn into the hand tool. |
